How Kinntide works
Our story — Kinnakeet, NC
"The problem was never wages.
It was coordination."
Kinntide was born on Hatteras Island in the Outer Banks of North Carolina — originally called Kinnakeet. We managed vacation rental properties that were underperforming on Airbnb. Non-oceanfront units. Duplexes. Older inventory that couldn't compete in shoulder season.
Instead of discounting, we made a different call. We approached a local employer whose seasonal employees were struggling to find housing, and structured a direct commitment — the employer backs the housing, we house the employees, the owner gets guaranteed income.
Year one: 70 employees housed across 32 weeks. $204,000 in guaranteed revenue. Zero vacancy. Five-year contract with annual escalation. The model worked — not because of technology, but because of structure.
Kinntide exists to make that structure available to every seasonal market in the country.
